What Is Health
First, to answer that question, do you really know what health is? Good health is the ability to function adequately and independently in your ever changing environment. There are many areas in your life that could be in good or poor health.
Physical Health is the overall condition of your physical body, such as your organs, your cardio and respiratory systems, reproductive systems and nervous systems. A healthy person is free of dis-ease and signs or symptoms of pain, discomfort, illness and infection. People who are healthy eat a well balanced diet with lots of leafy greens, fruits and veggies, drink plenty of water daily and get adequate exercise each week.
Psychological Health is the ability to handle and process the psychological or mental challenges in life. People who are healthy psychologically are generally happy people, they do not blame others for their problems, they take responsibility for their actions and their choices, they are able to control their emotions when dealing with stress and life's changes.
Social Health is the felling of wholeness one achieves when forming relationships with friends, family, and co workers. People who are socially healthy are those who do not live in isolation, they find groups to belong to and feel happiness by engaging with others in meaningful ways.
Intellectual Health is the ability to be open to new ideas, experiences, and thought processes. Intellectually healthy people enjoy learning new things, find pleasure in challenging them self, and are able to judge the effectiveness of their choices and learn from their experiences.
Spiritual Health is the felling and knowing of being a part of something bigger than themself, and that one's life has purpose. Spiritual health is achieved when you feel at peace with life. It is when you are able to find hope and comfort in even the hardest of times. It can help to support you as you experience life completely. Spirituality is different for everyone. (Spirituality is not RELIGION, but religion is an outlet for obtaining spiritual health)
Environmental Health is the state of your surroundings. This means having a safe, clean home. This also can be gauged by the area in which you live, the state of the environment (clean air, waste management, and control of distressing social problems) where you live, the place you work, and the places you frequent. People can not be healthy if their environment is polluted or unsafe.
Financial Health is is a term used to describe the state of one's personal monetary affairs. There are many dimensions to financial health, including the amount of savings you have, how much you're putting away for retirement, and how much of your income you are spending on fixed or non-discretionary expenses. Managing your money is just as important to your health as eating well and exercising. According to the American Psychological Association (APA), money is the top cause of stress in the United States. In a 2015 survey, the APA reported that 72% of Americans stressed about money at least some of the time during the previous month.
What Is Wellness
Wellness definition is - the quality or state of being in good health especially as an actively sought goal. Seeking and actively perusing goals to be balanced in every area of health I described above is the way to achieve WELLNESS. That feeling of wholeness when you are at optimum health is wellness.
Knowing how to manage the balance and process the stress in healthy way will bring you to the best version of yourself.
So let me ask you, again...
